Our Fotel project is completed!

We have just finished all the activities planned within the FOTEL Project. We are pleased to present you the outcomes of our 2-year long pilot programme. The objective of the project was to examine to what extent the application of Forum Theatre methodology by teachers, combined with practical knowledge about intercultural relations, may reduce the risk of early school leaving by youth aged 13 to 16.

Research

Within the research phase we were investigating the factors of the early school leaving among the youngsters at risk – Roma, migrant and low social capital background students and the impact of Forum Theatre on our groups engaged in the pilot programme at schools. We have prepared the Project reports called: Examining Early School Leaving Factors in Five European Contexts and Examining Forum Theatre Impact
as a Tool against Early School Leaving in Five European Contexts
compiling data from all the Project countries.

Pilots in the schools

After publishing the research report we conducted pilot workshops in local schools and their final effect was the Forum Theatre play of course. You can find videos recorded in five countries during the workshops, rehearsals and final performances on our FOTEL Project youtube channel.

Handbook for teachers and educators and Teachers Training

On the pilot phase experience were founded the next phases of the Project – we have prepared and conducted Teachers Training and published the Handbook for those educators who are interested in using the Forum Theatre technique in the combat against early school leaving problem among youngsters.

The Teachers Training was the single event but we are open to repeat this idea locally and to share widely the Handbook hoping it will be a guide and inspiration for beginners in the Forum Theatre world.

International Conference

Within the last 2 years it was our aim to spread usage of the Forum Theatre as a tool in reducing early school leaving among teenagers. To popularize this idea we have organized also the International Conference:Chance at School, Chance in Life – with Artistic Tools against Early School Leaving in Budapest, Hungary, 31st October to 1st November 2014.
